Typical alpha for the citra hop is 5.0-7.0 percent. A close descendant of Hallertau Mittelfruh bred for disease resistance and larger yields. Very refined, sweet aroma. Citra's flavor and aroma can be described as having strong citrus qualities and tropical tones of grapefruit, melon, lime, gooseberry, passion fruit and lychee. Great in IPA's and pale ales. These are whole leaf hops.
